Give It Away
My favorite tip that I often give to people related to career building:
- Figure out the thing you like and/or enjoy spending hours time doing (because to be good at something requires you to spend so many hours on it)
- Make something about something you like (as good as possible)
- Share it for free
Step three would be significantly easier if something you like can be categorized into digital product. That being said, with the rise of social media, even if it isn't digital product i guess you can replace no. 3 with "document your process and share it for free".
The last decade of my life started with me creating stuff and sharing it for free on my blog then one day an email came: "hey, can you do this for me? I'll pay you for it".
